Cultivation and Skills

The Cultivation and Skills System is one of the most important parts of character progression in Perfect World. It defines the spiritual advancement of the class, unlocks new skills, and allows the character to continue developing throughout their journey.

As the character levels up and performs their cultivations, new stages are unlocked. These stages allow learning stronger skills, improving combat resources, and advancing to more powerful spiritual paths.

How Cultivation Works

Cultivation represents the spiritual growth of the character. By completing specific Cultivation missions, the player increases their spiritual stage and unlocks new possibilities within the class.

The first Cultivation mission becomes available at the character's early levels. After that, new stages appear as the character levels up, allowing for gradual progression.

  • Cultivation tracks the character's evolution.
  • Each completed stage unlocks new possibilities.
  • New skills may become available as Cultivation progresses.
  • Some skills require a specific level of Cultivation to be learned.
  • The system is essential for the complete development of the class.

Cultivation Missions

Cultivation missions are responsible for unlocking the character's new spiritual stages. They appear during progression and usually have a different highlight from regular missions, making them easier to identify within the mission list.

Completing these missions is crucial, as a character that does not evolve their Cultivation may be limited in terms of available skills. Even if the character levels up, some skills can only be learned after reaching the necessary Cultivation.

  • Cultivation missions unlock new spiritual stages.
  • They are a mandatory part of class evolution.
  • Some skills directly depend on completed Cultivation.
  • Advancing in Cultivation helps the character become more complete.
  • It is recommended not to let these missions accumulate for too long.

Class Skills

Each class has its own skills. These skills define the way of playing, the type of damage, defensive resources, controls, buffs, and the roles the character can perform in a group.

To learn or evolve skills, the character usually needs to meet requirements such as level, Cultivation, and necessary resources. Therefore, the growth of skills is directly linked to the overall progression of the character.

  • Offensive skills increase damage potential.
  • Defensive skills help with survival.
  • Control skills can limit enemy actions.
  • Buffs and supports help the character or the group.
  • New skills are unlocked as the character evolves.

Skill Evolution

Skills can be evolved to become stronger. As the player levels up the skills, they can deal more damage, improve their effects, reduce limitations, or become more efficient in combat.

Keeping the main skills updated is very important. A character with good equipment but outdated skills may perform below expectations in PvE, PvP, wars, arenas, and other content.

  • Evolved skills tend to have better effects.
  • Some skills increase damage or healing when leveled up.
  • Others may improve duration, efficiency, or utility.
  • Prioritizing main skills helps in the character's evolution.
  • The ideal is to keep important skills always updated.

Noble Path and Diabolical Path

At an advanced stage of progression, the character must choose between two spiritual paths: the Noble Path, also known by many players as God, and the Diabolical Path, known as Evil.

This choice is very important because it influences the advanced versions of the skills. Each path can alter effects, improve specific characteristics, and change how a particular class behaves in combat.

  • The Noble Path is often referred to as God by players.
  • The Diabolical Path is often referred to as Evil by players.
  • Each path has its own versions of skills.
  • The choice can directly impact the playstyle.
  • It is recommended to analyze carefully before deciding which path to follow.

Difference Between the Paths

The Noble Path and the Diabolical Path should not be seen merely as a visual or naming choice. They can modify important class skills, offering different effects for the same skill.

In some classes, one path may favor more damage, speed, control, or aggression. In others, it may offer more stability, resource generation, defense, or utility. Therefore, the best choice depends on the class, build, and player’s objective.

  • One path may be better for PvE in certain classes.
  • The other path may be more efficient for PvP or wars.
  • Some choices favor explosive damage.
  • Others favor consistency, survival, or control.
  • The decision should consider the player's playstyle.

God and Evil Skills

After choosing the spiritual path, the character can learn special versions of the skills. These versions are known by players as God or Evil skills, depending on the chosen path.

These skills maintain the base of the original skill but may receive additional effects or important changes. Therefore, they are an essential part of optimizing the class in more advanced stages.

  • God skills belong to the Noble Path.
  • Evil skills belong to the Diabolical Path.
  • The advanced versions can alter the effects of the skills.
  • Some skills become much stronger after this evolution.
  • Choosing the right path can significantly improve the class's performance.

Skill Planning

Since each class has many skills, it is important to plan which ones will be prioritized. Players will not always be able to evolve everything at once, so it is best to focus first on the skills most used in the character's routine.

Players focused on PvE may prioritize area damage, sustain, or group utility skills. Meanwhile, players focused on PvP may place more importance on control, mobility, defense, burst damage, and survival skills.

  • Prioritize the main skills of your class.
  • Consider whether the character's focus will be PvE, PvP, or both.
  • Analyze which skills are most used in your rotation.
  • Avoid ignoring important defensive or utility skills.
  • Plan the choice between God and Evil according to your build.

Importance of Cultivation

Cultivation is essential because it unlocks the true potential of the class. A character without updated Cultivation may be limited, even if they have good equipment or other strengthening systems.

In addition to unlocking skills, Cultivation also represents the character's spiritual advancement and allows access to stronger stages of progression. Therefore, it should be treated as a priority during evolution.

Keeping Cultivation up to date helps the character learn new skills, improve their efficiency, and better prepare for more advanced content.

Importance of Skills

Skills are the heart of each class's gameplay. They define how the character deals damage, protects themselves, assists allies, controls enemies, and participates in game content.

Therefore, evolving skills correctly is as important as improving equipment. An efficient build depends on the combination of Cultivation, skills, equipment, refinements, cards, runes, and other progression systems.

Players who wish to achieve greater performance should keep track of their skills' evolution, choose their spiritual path wisely, and keep Cultivation always updated.
