[2026] Progression Guide: G17 Weapons

In The Classic PW 1.8.7, the strongest weapon currently available is the G17 UP 5.

To obtain your G17 UP 5 weapon, the journey is long and requires daily dedication. The estimated time to complete the entire progression to the maximum weapon is approximately 60 days.

The progression of the G17 weapons goes through several stages: creating the initial weapon, successive upgrades, attribute reforging, and finally, the choice between the attack or defense version of the G17 UP 5 weapon.

Creating Your G17 Weapon

The creation of your G17 weapon starts with the NPC Vyn Yen, the Warrior. From him, you can begin the first stage of progression and evolve your weapon to G17 UP 5.

G17 UP 1 Weapon

Estimated time to obtain: 1 day.

The G17 UP 1 weapon is the initial and simplest stage of progression. By advancing through the red missions, the player will reach a stage that will grant 10 Dragon Breath Fragments.

With the 10 Dragon Breath Fragments, you can forge your G17 UP 1 weapon at the NPC Vyn Yen, the Warrior.

The Dragon Breath FragmentDragon Breath Fragment can also be purchased from the NPC Vyn Yen, the Warrior. To forge the G17 UP 1 weapon, 10 Dragon Breath Fragments are required.

G17 UP 2 Weapon

Estimated time to obtain: 3 days.

To make your G17 UP 2 weapon, you will need your G17 UP 1 weapon and the following materials:

G17 UP 3 Weapon

Estimated time to obtain: 7 days.

To make your G17 UP 3 weapon, you will need your G17 UP 2 weapon and the following materials:

G17 UP 4 Weapon

Estimated time to obtain: 20 days.

To make your G17 UP 4 weapon, you will need your G17 UP 3 weapon and the following materials:

G17 UP 5 Weapon

Estimated time to obtain: 30 days.

To make your G17 UP 5 weapon, you will need your G17 UP 4 weapon and the following materials:

The G17 UP 5 weapon has two final versions: one with 80 attack levels and another with 80 defense levels.

The player can choose which version they want to make at the moment of forging the G17 UP 5 weapon.

Alternative Progression: Rank 9 Weapons (R9)

In addition to the main progression of the G17 weapons, the player can also choose to follow an alternative route using Rank 9 weapons, also known as R9.

This progression is an option for players who wish to invest in the R9 weapon, but it is important to understand that the route has its own limit: the strongest weapon in this line is the R9 UP 3.

The R9 weapons cannot be evolved into the G17 version. In other words, the R9 progression is an alternative and independent route, not being a mandatory step to reach the G17 UP 5.

The R9 UP 3 weapon compares to a G17 UP 4, but the strongest weapon in the game remains the G17 UP 5.

To make your R9 UP 1 weapon, you will need the following materials:

The R9 route is recommended for players who want a strong progression alternative, reaching up to R9 UP 3. Even though it is comparable to a G17 UP 4, this weapon does not replace the final progression of the G17 UP 5, which remains the maximum weapon on the server.

Reforging your weapon

Starting from G17 UP 3, it is possible to reforge your weapon to add extra attributes. To do this, talk to the NPC Vyn Dey, the Reforger.

  • The G17 UP 3 weapon can have 1 extra attribute
  • The G17 UP 4 weapon can have 1 extra attribute
  • The G17 UP 5 weapon can have 2 extra attributes

Exchanging your weapon

It is also possible to exchange your G17 UP 5 attack weapon for a defense one, or a defense one for an attack one, at any time.

To make this exchange, just take your G17 UP 5 and the necessary materials to the NPC Vyn Dey, the Reforger.

Where to farm the materials?

The main materials for forging, evolving, reforging, and exchanging the G17 weapons can be obtained in the instance Shattered Paradise.

It is possible to obtain 1 entry per day from the Shattered Paradise instance. Of the rewards obtained, 20% are tradable and 80% are bound to the character.
