We want to make it very clear how the launch dynamic of The Classic PW 1.8.7 will work, especially regarding the wipe, early access, and the different stages leading up to the server’s official opening.

So let’s get straight to the point: when the server officially launches, all previous progress will be wiped. This means that everything done during the VIP Access, Closed Beta, and Open Beta phases will be deleted. When the server is officially launched, all players will start from zero, on equal terms.

About the wipe

We know this is one of the community’s biggest questions, so we want to reinforce: yes, there will be a full wipe before the official launch. No progress made during the testing or early access phases will be kept for the final stage.

The purpose of these early stages is to allow the community to take part in development, explore systems, test content, report bugs, follow the project’s evolution, and help us deliver a much more polished, stable, and well-balanced server on the day of the official launch.

How the stages will progress

The launch of The Classic PW 1.8.7 will follow a clearly defined sequence of stages. In each phase, we will release new information and expand player access to the project.

• 1. Server information reveal — we will begin by presenting the project proposal, its identity, and its main features.
• 2. Roadmap announcement + VIP access release — we will share the roadmap regarding content, gear progression, and the overall direction of the server, while also opening VIP access.
• 3. Pre-registration — at this stage, players will be able to create their The Classic Games account to prepare for the next phases.
• 4. Closed Beta — players with VIP access will participate, along with some selected community members.
• 5. Open Beta — at this stage, all players with an account created on The Classic Games will be able to access and participate freely.
• 6. Official Launch — before this phase, the full wipe will take place, and then everyone will begin together from zero.

VIP Access, Closed Beta, and Open Beta

The VIP Access, Closed Beta, and Open Beta phases will play an extremely important role in the project’s development. They will not exist only as early access, but also as a real stage of testing, validation, and refinement of the server.

VIP Access will be aimed mainly at content creators who understand this version, know Perfect World in its most updated stage, and are able to contribute with a more accurate vision regarding progression, content, balance, and gameplay experience. In addition, this access will also be directed to influential community players who are familiar with this server proposal and can help shape the project according to the desires and expectations of the community.

The idea behind VIP Access is not to create a permanent advantage, but rather to bring together players who can truly provide qualified feedback, identify issues more deeply, and actively take part in building the server before the broader testing phases.

During these periods, we will encourage the community to explore the game to the fullest, test systems, point out flaws, find bugs, and help us validate the experience before the official opening. The focus is to make sure the server reaches launch in a much more consolidated state and aligned with what players expect.

Rewards for participation and bugs found

During the VIP Access, Closed Beta, and Open Beta periods, we will reward players who contribute to the project by identifying bugs, following a list of criteria that will be announced later.

In addition, just as we have done in other projects — such as The Classic PW 1.2.6 — we may also run activities and rankings focused on beta exploration, such as:

• Rankings for players who contribute the most to testing
• The Classic Coins rewards for bugs found and properly reported
• Special activities to encourage active community participation during testing
